I challenged myself to make a Modern Doll Quilt using free piecing techniques.
The backing fabric is this funny print~

I used a split wool batting just to try it out and I did narrow vertical machine quilting.

It was really fun to turn this pile of somewhat related scraps into this fun little quilt. Here it is after day one. I knew it needed a little more somethin'-somethin' on the top and bottom.

I used a raspberry solid for the single binding. I love the single mitered binding on small quilts.

I started quilting this little doll quilt again. I am echo quilting it freehand. I like that it's not perfect, as if maybe a child had quilted it.

In other news I made a long string piece in rainbow order. I plan to make it into a runner.
